Koh Samui is one of the islands located in the
Gulf of Thailand. It is the largest island in the Gulf and sits amongst
a group of three main islands - also surrounded by Angthong Marine Park - the other two being Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. Koh Phangan has long
been a favorite for many people on their world travels and boasts the
famous Full Moon Party. Koh Tao is now seen as the world's premier and
most popular site for scuba diving in the world.
As the largest
of the islands Koh Samui is the only one that can facilitate an airport,
as well as the main ferry routes to the mainland. As such most of the
people heading for any of the three islands will probably - although not
certainly - pass through Koh Samui, and more than likely decide to
spend some time there. As an island of outstanding natural beauty, but
with the advantage of the easy connections to the outside world and
surrounding islands, this makes it the most desirable for most people
who are looking for property in this part of the world. Koh Samui is
certainly one of those places that makes people look at the options of a
property, once they know how accessible it is, and how easily all the
convenient facilities fit in the make-up of the island, without
impacting on the environment and the exceptional natural beauty.
