/ Bupa Travel Insurance FAQQ: If I am hospitalised abroad,
will IHI /Bupa directly settle the hospital bill?A: If you are
hospitalised, you do not need to pay for the treatment yourself. Please
notify ihi Bupa Medical Centre (24 hour service) immediately in order
for them to send a guarantee of payment to the hospital. Without
contacting IHI / Bupa first, your claim may not be settled directly. Q: If
I fall sick abroad and need to see the doctor, will i have to Pay and
then claim re-imbursement?A: Doctors bills and medecine expenses
for outpatient treat must be paid by yourself before claiming
re-imbursement. A completed medical claim form should then be sent to
IHI / Bupa. You can download a claim for from www.ihi.com or request it from your

Q: How to report a claim?A:
Please complete the medical claim form with as much detailed information
as possible and send it to IHI / Bupa together with all relevant
original documentation such as receipts and itemised doctor’s bills,
expenses for medicine, treatment, and flight tickets/travel proof
documents. Q: How to report a
baggage claim?A: Please complete a baggage claim form
with as much detailed information as possible and send it to IHI / Bupa
together with all relevant original documentation such as receipts of
items, lost baggage report/police report and flight tickets/travel proof
documents. For delayed baggage please attach a carrier report stating
baggage was delayed by more than 5 hours together with original receipts
of items purchased prior to receiving the baggage. Q: When do I need to contact IHI / Bupa to
claim?A: IHI / Bupa should be notified
immediately in case of death, hospitalisation, emergency, repatriation,
medical evacuation/ repatriation or accompaniment, and such notification
must include medical information about the illness/injury. Notification
should be made by telephone or e-mail to the ihi Bupa 24-hour emergency
service. You can claim even before you are back from the
trip. The Claim should be reported to IHI / Bupa no later than 30 days
after the expiry of the insurance, however they will accept late cases
under certain circumstances.
